Help and advice
It may feel quite daunting arranging a funeral at such a challenging time. We are here to help. 24/7. Our priority is to listen and gently help guide you through the process of what you would like and need. We have made a guide to read about what to do when someone dies. You may find it helpful to read before you call us.
We are here to help you
Facing death can be an overwhelming, distressing and confound time for most and we want you to feel reassured in all the decisions you have to make. There are endless reasons not to like a funeral, organising it shouldn’t be one of them.
All our funeral arrangements start from a blank page. There is no time pressure to get things done. Nor do we sell funeral packages. Along with our guide above, we hope the following information will help you understand how we can help you at Cherished, when a loved one has died.
What to do next
1: The inital call
When you are ready please contact us and we can talk things through. We can give you advice with what to do next. We will guide you every step of the way. Before you call, you may find it helpful to read our guide at the top of the page called ‘what to do when someone dies’, or click here.
2: In depth appointment
We will arrange an initial meeting to discuss the arrangements either at your home or at our Funeral home, which ever you would prefer.
3: Gentle care
When the time is right we will collect the person who has died and bring them into our care.
They will be looked after with the greatest of respect, compassion and dignity at all times whilst in our care. Family members or close friends may choose to be involved in the gentle cleansing, dressing, brushing hair, shaving, painting nails or putting make up on your loved one when you come to visit them.
4: Support on the day & beyond
We will be with you on the day to guide and support you from start to finish and make sure everything goes smoothly.
At Cherished, we like to stay in touch after the funeral and always make our home available to you to drop by for a listening ear, or cup of tea. We care and support you in moving forward after a bereavement.
